A Few Things to Try First
Before you book, a couple of quick checks might save you a visit:
- Check that your thermostat is set to "Heat" and the temperature is set above room temperature
- Make sure the furnace switch (often near the unit, looks like a light switch) hasn't been accidentally turned off
- Check your breaker panel for a tripped breaker connected to the furnace
- Replace the air filter if it hasn't been changed in the last 1–3 months — a clogged filter can restrict airflow and cause shutdowns
- Confirm the thermostat has working batteries, if applicable
