A Few Things to Try First
Before you book, a couple of quick checks might save you a visit:
- Check that your thermostat is set to "Cool" and the temperature is set below room temperature
- Make sure the outdoor unit isn't blocked by debris, leaves, or overgrown plants
- Check your breaker panel for a tripped breaker connected to the AC
- Replace the air filter if it hasn't been changed in the last 1–3 months — a clogged filter can restrict airflow and cause the system to freeze up
- Check the condensate drain line for clogs if you notice water pooling near the indoor unit
